Oliver / Hatcher completed the construction of new studio spaces within the Detroit Public Television’s existing and occupied facilities. The technical requirements of the project were complex, as unique construction and design requirements were developed to ensure the acoustic integrity of the studios. The project was completed during full-occupancy, during all phases of construction, with no interruption to staff or workplace.
The renovated spaces included the Reception Area, Master Control Room, three (3) Broadcast Studios, and a Server Room. Acoustical requirements included raised access flooring, and acoustical wall and ceiling panels. Additional upgrades included supplemental heating and cooling units, suspended lighting grids and high sound transmission class (STC) doors and windows.
