With a reputation for adhering to rigorous deadlines as well as decades of expertise in keeping occupied businesses operating smoothly during construction, Watermark Capital contacted Oliver / Hatcher Construction to renovate their existing Livonia-based hotel and change its flag from IHG (Holiday Inn) to Radisson.
The renovations included major construction overhauls, as well as the design and transformation of the existing dated hotel into a modern and functional hotel and conference center. Extensive interior work was required and included a complete renovation of the hotel lobby, 226 guest rooms, meeting and banquet rooms, corridors, and common hallways.
Our construction and design team renovated and updated the restaurant, and built out a new bar, and sandwich and sundry shop in the atrium area. The existing pool in the recreational area was refurbished with new equipment and a new fitness center was constructed.
Detailed and extensive schedules, as well as the sequencing of construction activities, were carefully planned to keep the hotel fully functional and limit the disruption to guests during the construction process. Nine phases of construction were required and implemented to allow guests and convention patrons to continue to utilize the facility and keep important service contracts in place.
