Oliver / Hatcher completed the renovation of over 380,000 SF of office space for Volkswagon of America. The challenges to this project included the coordinated relocation of over 1,800 employees and the conversion of a ground-level parking lot into both working and recreational space.
The project included the demolition and renovation of all floors throughout the facility. The new interior build-out included offices, conferencing areas, training spaces, and meeting cafés. Additionally, the conversion of an existing ground-level parking garage into an environmental emissions lab, quality assurance lab, and an employee fitness center.
The construction was proved over five phases of which each required its own Certificate of Occupancy. The project phasing required the relocation of thirty-two (32) departments that included temporary and permanent moves of over 1,800 employees.
