We are seeking an individual in the Genesee County area whose background includes:
- Bachelor’s in Construction Management or other related field
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Project, and Excel
- Strong written and oral communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated
- Experience in construction a plus
Responsibilities
Bidding / Preconstruction (Estimating):
- Make Phone Calls to Subcontractors to Solicit Bids
- Collect and Qualify Bids
- Assist with the Development of Bid Scope Summary Sheets
- Assist with Bid Approval Forms and Required Back-Up
- Assist with Research on New/Out-of-Town Subcontractors
- Track New Subcontractor Applications
- Coordinate Drawings
- Generate RFI’s
Site Specific Safety Measures:
- Subcontractor Safety Orientations
- Safety Inspections
- Safety Manual Tracking and Organization
- SDS Tracking and Organization
- Site Signage Procurement and Maintenance
- Barricade Maintenance and Evaluation
- Site Cleanliness
- Relocate Staged Material as Needed
Document Control:
- Track and Distribute Incoming Drawings and Bulletins
- Update Drawing Logs and Drawing Sticks with Incoming Drawings so the Project Team is
- Working from the Current Construction Set
- Review Incoming Submittals to Confirm Conformance to Contract Documents
- Log, Track, and Distribute Submittals Going To and Coming From the A/E
- Prepare RFI’s as Directed by Team, and Submit to the A/E for Review
- Ensure RFIs are Sent to All Affected Subcontractors
- Track, Organize, and Document Project Scope Changes and Extra Work Orders (T&M
- Tickets, Bulletins, Subcontractor Quotes)
- Take Meeting Minutes and Review with Team Prior to Distribution
- Maintain Drawings, Submittals, and RFI’s within Databases Used in the Field (i.e. PlanGrid), as well as Project Binders
- Coordinate with Project Administrator Regarding Roles and Responsibility Overlap
Project Schedule/Construction Progress:
- Take and File Progress Photos Regularly
- Assist Superintendent with Daily Report Preparation
- Visually Track Onsite Construction Progress
- Assist in the Development of Three Week Look-Ahead Schedules
- Communicate with Subcontractors Regarding Labor and Material Availability
- Maintain Material Status Report (Tracking of Long Lead Items)
- Assist with Subcontractor Productivity Tracking
- Assist with Onsite Supervision and Management of Trades
Project Close-Out:
- Punchlist Creation and Tracking of Completed Items
- Tracking of Required Close-Out Documentation per Project Specifications
- Assist with the Scheduling of Required Owner Training
- Assist with the Review and Compilation of As-Built Drawings
- Creation and Distribution of Close-Out Binders/Flash Drives
