Project: Wilson Companies
Location: Troy, Michigan
Square Footage: 30,000
In 2004, Oliver/Hatcher Construction was hired by Wilson Companies for the construction of a new 30,760 square foot, two-story office building. The client had worked with another contractor on the existing adjacent building, and was unsatisfied. Oliver/Hatcher teamed with the architect and engineer, along with the local municipality to fast-track approvals and complete construction within eight (8) months.
The site was not flat at this location, which created some grade challenges. Our team took advantage of the uneven grade, and created a daylight parking structure that was open on one side, and underground on the other. The uneven grade, and creation of underground parking allowed our team to satisfy the parking requirements on this site.
In addition to the construction of the new building, out team provided interior tenant build-outs. Safety was our top priority on this project, as the adjacent building was fully occupied during construction. Temporary barricades, open entries, and coordinated delivery plans were put in place so as not to disrupt the existing tenants.
- Underground, "daylight" parking.
- Brick and glass facade, with a steel canopy entrance.
- Build-outs included core hall, and toilet areas.
- Custom tenant improvements.
