Completed the exterior finishes of the building shell including glazing, dryvit and continuous framed awnings.
Renovation of the former vacant Oldsmobile Engine Plant (GM Lansing Plant 5) which has since been renamed the Delta Distribution Center. The original building is more than one million square feet occupying 55 acres.
Removal of existing manufacturing equipment, demolition of demising partitions and the filling of three large basements with over 30,000 c.y. of material, installation of eighty-five (85) new truck docks and 600,000 sq. ft. of new paving for truck staging areas in order to re-purpose the plant from a manufacturing to a light assembly and logistics facility.
Special care was taken to ensure that no environmental issues arose from handling the waste materials generated during the decommissioning process. The fast paced renovation project required skillful coordination between demolition /salvage and civil and architectural construction activities.
Removal of flumes, pits, trenches, tunnels and basement and replaced with new concrete floors.
Complete renovation, update and / or repair HVAC systems, electrical systems, fire protection systems and domestic water system.
Sixteen (16) phased occupancy areas to expedite tenant’s production needs. Worked closely with tenant’s vendors to install process systems.
Additional work included the construction of Building #2 which measures 629,000 S.F. and a connector link that provides covered access from Building #1 to Building #2.
